Get to know the members of our POA Board, committed to enhancing our neighborhood's livability and fostering a strong sense of community spirit. These individuals dedicate their time and expertise voluntarily without any compensation, united by a commitment to cultivating a vibrant and harmonious community. President
Jim has lived in the neighborhood since 2007. A former lawyer and retired episcopal priest, Jim enjoys mountain triking in Bent Creek.
Vice President
Ross is a seasoned hotel revenue management professional from Georgia with 20 years in hospitality. He enjoys time with his husband Sam and dog Trixie June, exploring WNC's outdoors on bike or paddleboard.
Treasurer
Deb is retired and has lived in Ashley Woods since 2015. She loves time with family, friends, and dog Maggie, and volunteers at ABCCM and St. Eugene Catholic Church
Secretary
Julie is retired and happy to be in Asheville after moving from the Chicagoland area. She enjoys our great outdoors, painting and gardening.
Ruth moved to Ashley Woods in 2017. She is a practicing lawyer and in her free time enjoys being active outdoors, crafting, and spending time with her family.
Pat and husband Rich moved to Ashley Woods in 2015 after a career in social work and human services administration. She is “mostly retired” now and loves gardening, taking OLLI classes at UNCA, and hiking at the Arboretum with Rich and their pooch Harry.
Stephen has lived in the neighborhood since 2019. He is a manager in the tech industry, and enjoys spending time with his family, soccer, and all things nerdy.
Manager
Carlton is currently retired after a lengthy career in management and business development. He enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
Meetings are typically held the second Wednesday of every other month and begin at 5 pm.
Section 47 F-3-108(b) of the North Carolina Planned Community Act requires the Property Owners Association “at regular intervals“ to provide property owners an opportunity to attend a portion of a Board meeting and speak to the Board about their issues or concerns. At Ashley Woods, the Board holds two such “open” meetings a year (with notice) in addition to the Annual Meeting in the Fall.

North Carolina law requires the Property Owners Association hold a meeting once a year to which all Owners are invited. The POA conducts its Annual Meeting each fall.
The 2024 Annual Meeting was conducted on November 9, 2024. Official notice was emailed to property owners on September 17, 2024, with a follow up on September 30, 2024.
